Novum lögfræðiþjónusta slf. is a new law firm that commenced its operations in early September 2019. It has the knowledge, experience and skills available to provide quality comprehensive legal services.
Novum strives to provide fast but professional service. The goal is to provide only the necessary services and advice so that customers only have to pay for what is unavoidable.

Ólafur Lúther Einarsson
Attorney
Ólafur Lúther Einarsson is the owner and attorney at Novum. He graduated from the University of Iceland Law department in 2002 and started working for Vátryggingafélag Íslands hf. He qualified to plead before the District Court in 2004. He was there in various capacities for over 16 years until he retired at the end of April 2019.
Ólafur was first an attorney in the claims division (2002-2008) and litigated over 30 legal cases for the company. In 2008 he became a lawyer in the office of the CEO of VÍS and then took over as the company's chief legal officer in 2010 and simultaneously became secretary to the board.
Finally, he became Managing Director in 2017 (including claims and insurance) and held this position until he retired from VÍS at the end of April 2019.

Heiðar Örn Stefánsson
Attorney
Heiðar Örn has devoted himself to advocacy since graduating from the University of Iceland Law department in January 2007. He was a law student, lawyer and later attorney at Pacta–litigation and counsel from January 2005 to September 2007 and an attorney at LOGOS Legal Services from September 2007 to April 2018. During this time, Heiðar Örn litigated a number of court cases and was granted rights to litigation before the Supreme Court in February 2013.
Heiðar Örn was an attorney at Mosfellsbær from April 2018 to May 2020 and the founder and owner of Heiðar Örn Law Firm from April 2018. Has been working with Novum since January 2020. In 2018 and 2019, Heiðar Örn studied legal philosophy at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. He has taught in Tort and Criminal Law and Real Estate Law in his studies for certification of real estate agents at the Continuing Education Institute of the University of Iceland. Furthermore, Heiðar Örn has held various positions of trust and has, for example, represented the Minister of Education on the board of the Loan Fund Icelandic Students, Deputy representative of the Minister of Education in the University Council of the University of Iceland. Sat on various election boards, been elected a member of the University of Iceland Student Council and the Board of Orators, as well as being Editor of Úlfljótur.

Telma Sif Reynisdóttir
Attorney
Telma Sif is an attorney qualified to represent the District Courts. She graduated with a BA degree in law from the University of Iceland Law department in spring 2018 and a master's degree from the same university in spring 2020. Her Master's thesis is on the legal effects of purchase agreements and deeds in real estate transactions. Telma Sif worked as an assistant teaching assistant in Compensation Law II, as well as an internship at Tort lögmenn ehf. She took an active part in social life and was, among other things, a member of the Orator's Charter Aid and the Orator's Meeting and Cultural Affairs Committee. Alongside her studies, Telma worked as a music teacher and project manager at the Grindavík Music School, a project she supervised was nominated for the Icelandic Education Award 2021. Telma Sif completed her studies for certification in real estate and ship sales at the Continuing Education Institute of the University of Iceland in spring 2022 and is therefore also a certified real estate and shipping agent. Telma Sif has worked at Novum Legal Services since January 2022.

Guðmundur Ómar Hafsteinsson
Attorney
Guðmundur Ómar finished Cand. juris from the Law department of the University of Iceland in 2002 and an LL.M degree in maritime law from Lund University, Sweden in 2013. He was admitted to the District Court in 2004 and to the Supreme Court in 2010. Guðmundur is an experienced lawyer and his main areas of expertise are litigation, real estate law, planning and construction, claims law, labour law, divorce cases, family and inheritance law, bankruptcy and bankruptcy law, defence work and maritime law.
Guðmundur has served on the board of directors of various private limited companies and is an alternate member of the Welfare Ruling Committee. Guðmundur worked for the Ministry of Social Affairs in 2001-2004 and at the law firm Fortis in 2004-2022, where he was an owner. Guðmundur joined Novum Legal Services in February 2022. He was also chairman of the Examination Committee for Asset Exchange Declarations in 2004-2008, sat on the University of Iceland Student Council 1999-2001 and has been on the board of the HK Handball League since 2017.

Daði Ólafsson
Attorney
Daði has for many years worked as a consultant and researcher in the field of financial law and information technology. He has focused primarily on acquisitions, mergers and acquisitions of companies, and consultancy related to international trade and licensing agreements between IT companies. Daði has extensive experience and expertise in all legal advice in connection with mergers and takeovers, as well as documentation relating to financing and pledge taking in connection with such transactions, as well as teaching in this field at the University of Iceland. Daði has also assisted a number of companies with restructuring operations, exchange and establishment of subsidiaries and branches abroad. Daði has assisted a number of companies in implementing the new GDPR (European Union Data Protection Regulation) and started research and teaching on block-chain and smart contracts in the field of contract law.
Daði graduated from the University of Iceland Law department in 2006 and became District Court Attorney the following year. He graduated with honors from the University of Vienna Law in 2015 and graduated with distinction in intellectual property and information technology law from Stanford in 2015. He conducted legal research as a Project Manager at the European Law Institute from 2015-2017, focusing on research on IT law, rescuing operations and company restructuring, and the impact of new technologies on commercial law (platform trading, digital goods and services and smart contracts). Attended a number of conferences and meetings for ELI, including several conferences of UNCITRAL, UNIDROIT and ENCJ.
Daði has taught contract and company law at the University of Iceland Faculty of Law since 2008 and was a lecturer in company law I at the University of Iceland from 2010-2014. Daði regularly teaches securities markets and stock exchange law and corporate buying and selling at the Faculty of Law, as well as teaching negotiations at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Iceland.

Telma Eir Aðalsteinsdóttir
Operations and Office Manager
Telma Eir Aðalsteinsdóttir holds an MBA degree from the University of Iceland and a BA degree in Philosophy, Economics and Political Science (PPS) from Bifröst University.
Telma also works as the Managing Director of ÍMARK, the Icelandic Association of Marketing Professionals.
Telma has extensive experience in business and association operations and has held management positions including the Association of Business and Economists, the Association of Icelandic High School Students and SalesCloud.
Telma has served on the boards of various associations, institutions and companies including the Student Education Fund, the Workplace Learning Fund and her own companies.
